Head north on the Bruce Highway (A1), the main route connecting Townsville to Cardwell. The drive takes approximately two hours, covering around 165 kilometers. Along the way, you’ll pass through the town of Ingham.

From Cairns (north)

Traveling to Cardwell from Cairns is a scenic journey along the Bruce Highway (A1), heading south. The drive covers approximately 190 kilometers and takes around two and a half hours. As you leave Cairns, you’ll pass through lush rainforest and sugarcane fields.

By Plane

If you’re traveling to Cardwell by plane, the closest major airports are in Townsville and Cairns, both offering domestic and limited international flights.

From either airport, you can rent a car for a scenic drive along the Bruce Highway, or take a bus service that directly connects to Cardwell.
